New Discoveries About Glaucoma and Macular Degeneration
New discoveries continue to be made about glaucoma and macular degeneration, eye diseases that can cause blindness.

Low cerebrospinal fluid appears to be present in both Alzheimer’s and glaucoma. Investigations into abnormal presence of serum cystatin C (a marker for kidney disease) also have shown that chronic kidney disease and macular degeneration sometimes occur together.
